Southampton Invites Four

Congratulations to our 2003, 2004 & 2005 DPP players for playing some excellent soccer against top competition in the Southampton Cup this past December. 

Southampton Football Club (SFC) talent ID scouts observed the matches and were looking for the following attributes in participants in different areas of the field:

Technical Skills + Abilities, Leadership + Attitude, Advanced Knowledge of the Game

Four players that participate in both Columbus East F.C. Developmental Player Program (CEFC DPP) & Soccer Field Academy (SFA) were selected: Nathan Thompson, Andrew Rudesill, Gavin Miriello, and Colin Callahan. These players were hand picked by Southampton Academy Coaches to attend the Southampton FC (SFC) Player Development Camp. This is the second time an English Premier League Club has noticed several of our players, who are enrolled in both CEFC DPP and SFA programs.

The players will be traveling to England on the 30th of March and returning the 7th of April. The trip will feature the coaching philosophy of SFC’s world renowned academy, known for consistently developing globally esteemed talent. This will be a fully authentic experience, delivered by Academy staff. All attendees will experience a holistic week, which includes a training program that covers all aspects of player development for full immersion into the Southampton Way.
